Important information:

  • Your healthcare team has recommended Clog Zapper® which is a powder that breaks up formula clogs in different types of feeding tubes.

  • Clog Zapper can be used with NJ (nasojejunal), long GJ (gastro-jejunostomy), low-profile balloon gastro-jejunostomy tubes (GJ tubes) or long J tube (jejunostomy). Clog Zapper should not be used with micro G-JET® low-profile balloon GJ tube

  • If your child has a low-profile balloon GJ tube, follow the additional steps listed under ‘Instructions For Low Profile Devices’ on the last page of the instructions.

  • Caution: Protective eyewear is needed. Clog Zapper can cause irritation if it comes in contact with the eyes.

  • It should be stored at room temperature until mixed. Once mixed, Clog Zapper should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 24 hours.

  • Review content list in Clog Zapper package to confirm your child is not allergic to any powder contents.

    • Clog Zapper contains coconut and should not be used for children with tree nut allergies.

  • Clog Zapper contains maltodextrin, a type of sugar. If your child is on a ketogenic diet, they will need dietary oil once the tube is unclogged. Talk to your healthcare provider about how much to give.

  • If the tube won't flush after the first dose of Clog Zapper, you can try again only if your healthcare provider told you to. If you used a second dose of Clog Zapper and the tube is still clogged, call Interventional Radiology.
