Positioning: Wheelchair with a Lap Tray

These instructions are for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) caregivers to position their child in a wheelchair with a lap tray.

Patient instructions:

Positioning when using a lap tray

• Make sure your child is sitting in the center of the chair and all the way back.

• Place arms forward on the lap tray.

• For added support and comfort, you may add a pillow under the child's arms.

• Make sure that both feet are on the footrests.
