Upper Extremity Exercise: Turning Palm Up and Down

These instructions are for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) patients recommended to practice forearm pronation and supination, which are exercises where the palms of the hands are turned up and down.

  1. Lock your fingers together.

  2. Position your elbows close to your sides and bend your elbows 90 degrees (right angle).

  3. Turn your palm up.

  4. Turn your palm down.

  5. Repeat as instructed by your therapist.
