Using an Ellipta Dry Powder Inhaler
Patient instructions:
Brand names for Ellipta® dry powder inhalers can include Breo® and Arnuity®. Check your asthma action plan to see when to take the medicine. Check the dose counter; it shows how many doses are left in the inhaler. Call for a refill when the dose counter reaches 10. If you use your inhaler after the dose counter reaches zero, you may not receive the correct amount of medicine.
Follow the steps below to take the medicine.
-
Open
-
Do not shake or prime the Ellipta.
-
Breathe out fully then slide the cover down to expose the mouthpiece. You will hear a “click” once fully open. Remember: Each time you open the cover, you prepare 1 dose of medicine.
